“Power words” are key for persuasive copy.
Yeah, I know, buzzword bingo but they can genuinely influence how people feel and react, even if your “marketing” is an election manifestos and acceptance speeches.
Words like “transformative,” “groundbreaking,” and “empower” can stir emotions and get people excited. In the 2024 election, Labour has nailed it with these words to share their vision.
They focus on “equality,” “opportunity,” and “meritocracy” to connect with voters.
But power words aren’t everything.
The Conservative Party, even with their strong language, has struggled to turn words into votes. It shows that while powerful words are important, they need to be backed up by real policies and trust to truly win people over.
We copywriters and marketers can do our best to influence your audience, but you have to follow through with your promises to maintain your following.
